Verified against venice.ai/pricing on October 27, 2026, it includes 10 text prompts and 15 image prompts per day, 0 monthly credits, base models, and the same privacy architecture as paid plans. No credit card is requested. You can even browse as a guest before creating an account, as we show in our Venice beginner’s guide.
Perchance’s free tier is simpler: there is no tier at all. Perchance AI Chat is a free web page — open it, type, get an answer. During our entire test session we hit no throttling, no queues, no rate limits, and no “sign up for more” nudges. The page’s claim of “online, free, no sign-up, unlimited” held up in practice, and there is no paid plan to upsell you into. Full details in our Perchance AI review.
Round 1 verdict: Perchance wins on friction — zero setup, zero limits. Venice wins on structure — a defined allowance you can plan around, plus an upgrade path when you outgrow it.
Round 2: The Same 4 Prompts, Both Tools
Our standard protocol runs each tool through the same four scenarios: a creative-fiction opening, a politically charged either/or, a romance scene, and a medical-safety question. Both tools refused nothing — but what they produced was very different.

Venice answered all four prompts directly, in 3–25 seconds each, with complete and coherent replies — hence the 5/5 quality score. Perchance answered two of four usefully; the other two didn’t refuse, they just failed in ways that reveal the engine’s limits: the roleplay frame swallowing a factual question, and a degeneration loop on a longer output. That is why Perchance scores 2/5 despite a perfect 0/4 refusal record.
Round 2 verdict: Venice, by a wide margin. A tool that answers your question badly is not the same as a tool that answers it well — and for anything that isn’t fiction, Perchance’s roleplay framing is a constant tax.
Round 3: Images on the Free Tier
Venice’s free tier includes 15 image prompts a day. In our October 2026 test, two images at default settings took roughly 9 and 13 seconds each, and one scored 5/5 for quality. The catches: free-tier images carry a small “Venice” watermark, and NSFW image generation is gated to paid tiers — uncensored text chat is free, explicit images are not. Perchance also offers a free AI image generator, but we could not verify it hands-on — image outputs were CDN-blocked from our test environment in October 2026. Round 4: Privacy and Anonymity
This round is genuinely close, and the winner depends on what you mean by “private.”
Venice’s privacy architecture is the same on free and paid tiers: conversation history stored locally in your browser, zero data retention in Private mode, and end-to-end encryption options on paid plans. Perchance asks for nothing. No account means no email, no profile, nothing to leak — the strongest anonymity posture of any tool we’ve tested.
