“Is Perchance AI safe?” gets asked for a simple reason: it’s a free, no-sign-up, unlimited AI that doesn’t filter your prompts — a combination that sounds too good to be true. We went past the marketing and checked the things that actually matter: hands-on testing, a full read of their privacy policy (re-read October 17, 2026), and what the founder himself has said publicly about how your data is handled. Short answer: yes — Perchance is one of the safest free options out there, mostly because of what it doesn’t collect. Here’s the evidence. (For our hands-on quality verdict, see our full Perchance AI review.)
What We Verified Hands-On
- No sign-up, no account, no payment: we tested Perchance’s AI chat on 2026-10-05 and confirmed you can generate with zero registration; the site’s page title today still reads “online, free, no sign-up, unlimited.” No account means no identity database tied to your chats — there’s nothing to leak in a breach.
- Your chat data isn’t stored on their servers: Perchance’s own privacy policy states the AI text plugin (used for chat/story/etc.) does not store your data on their server. The only exception: generators with a manual “save” button that publishes your creation to a shareable page — that’s your choice, and it’s clearly opt-in.
- Image generations aren’t stored either: the text-to-image plugin also doesn’t store your data — unless you hit the heart button to publish to the public gallery. Generating is private; publishing is a deliberate act.
- Accounts are decoupled from AI use: per the founder’s public statements, AI plugin requests are anonymous — logging in doesn’t link your account to your prompts. Accounts only exist for people building their own generators, and you can register with a throwaway email.
- Ad scripts can’t see what you type: Perchance runs its ads in sandboxed iframes — the ad code physically cannot access the text or images you enter on the page. That’s genuinely unusual, and it handles the biggest ad-tracking worry with free sites.
- Zero refusal rate in our test: 4 prompts, 0 refusals on 2026-10-05 — Perchance didn’t hedge, warn, or filter anything. (Quality averaged 2/5 — uncensored doesn’t mean good.)
What Perchance Still Knows About You
Honesty requires the other side of the ledger. Perchance is a real website with real servers, and its policy is upfront about standard server logging:
- Server logs: IP address, browser type and version, OS, language, referring page, pages visited, time spent, access times. Used for abuse detection (IP bans) and aggregate stats — not, per the policy, stitched into per-user profiles.
- The prompt-in-transit caveat: the founder’s own advice: never put sensitive personal info in prompts. If a server were ever compromised, data flowing through it could be visible. This applies to every web-based AI — Perchance’s anonymity just means there’s no account attached to that data.
- Community generators are third-party pages: anyone can build and publish a Perchance generator. Treat each generator page like a random page on the internet — a generator could behave differently from the official AI chat, so don’t type private data into an unfamiliar one.
- US-hosted: the terms of service state the services are hosted in the United States, and using the site from elsewhere counts as consenting to that transfer.
- Ads are real: the site is ad-supported (Google, Freestar, Sovrn, and Snigel are named in the policy). The sandboxed iframes address the content-visibility worry, but standard ad-tech cookies still exist.
Safety vs Other Tools
- vs Venice AI: Venice is the safer paid option — real company, private-by-default routing, no training on chats. Perchance is the safer free option: Venice needs an email; Perchance needs nothing. For maximum privacy, a logged-out Perchance session edges out most free competitors simply by collecting less. Is Venice AI safe?
- vs Character.AI: Character.AI requires signup and actively filters content. Perchance requires neither. If you’re comparing the two for “uncensored” use, see Is Character.AI uncensored?
- vs ChatGPT: ChatGPT trains on your conversations by default and ties them to your identity. Perchance has no account to tie anything to and doesn’t store chat data server-side.
- vs random “uncensored” sites: Perchance has a public founder, a public privacy policy, and years of operating history — the three things shady clones lack. That said, it’s still an indie operation, not a venture-backed company with a security team.
Pricing Safety Check
There is no pricing. Perchance is 100% free with no paid tier, no payment form, and no card on file — verified during our testing and still true as of October 2026. You can’t be overcharged by a service that never asks for money, and there’s nothing to cancel. Try Perchance — free, no sign-up →
FAQ
Is Perchance AI safe to use?
Yes, for typical use. No sign-up means minimal identity exposure, chat and image data isn’t stored on their servers, and ad scripts are sandboxed away from what you type. Main caveat: don’t put sensitive personal information in prompts — that advice holds for every web AI.
Does Perchance AI store my chats?
No — per their privacy policy, the AI text plugin doesn’t store your data on their server. The exception is if you explicitly click a “save”/share button in a generator, which publishes that content to a shareable page.
Does Perchance AI train on my data?
The founder has stated publicly that AI plugin requests are anonymous and not associated with user accounts, even when you’re logged in. There’s no account to associate training data with in the first place for most users.
Can I use Perchance AI without an account?
Yes. Accounts are only needed if you want to build and publish your own generators. Everything for consumption — chat and image generation — works with no sign-up.
Is Perchance AI safe for kids?
Perchance’s policy has a children-privacy section but no hard age gate, and the AI doesn’t filter content. Parents should treat it like any unfiltered corner of the internet — not a kids’ product.
Is using Perchance AI legal?
The tool itself is legal. What you generate with it is your responsibility — illegal content is illegal regardless of the tool. (Not legal advice — see the legal guide.)
